ET:Rupee holds ground; weak local shares offset dollar-selling
MUMBAI: Rupee was little changed on Wednesday as negative local shares offset comfort from dollar-selling from some custodian banks seen in early trade.
* At 9:32 a.m., the partially convertible rupee was at 44.72/73 per dollar largely steady from Tuesday's close of 44.73/74. It had moved so far in 44.6950-44.7500 band.
* During the day, the unit is expected to stay in 44.70-44.80 range.
* The euro was at $1.4406, against $1.4429 at end of local forex trade on Tuesday and the index of the dollar against six major currencies was up 0.26 percent at 74.532 points.
* Indian shares slipped 0.2 percent in early trade on Wednesday, taking cues from weak Asian peers.
