DB:Silver becomes cheaper by R 50, gold price gains R 45

Gold prices went up while silver lost some shine on Friday.

In the national capital, the yellow metal saw its price jump by Rs 45 per 10 gram to trade at Rs 22,630 per 10 grams, while silver became cheaper by Rs 50 to touch the price of Rs 53,550 per kg.

Experts attribute the rush in gold prices mainly to heightened demand generated due to the ongoing marriage season.

In the international markets, however, both gold and silver have been witnessing a decline in demand. Gold fell 0.3% to start trading at $1,525.73 per ounce.
