PAIV:Silver Mines high grade silver hits set to boost Resource at Webbs Project
Silver Mines (ASX: SVL) has intersected more high grade silver rich polymetallic mineralisation over considerable widths from reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its 100% owned Webbs Silver Project.
The results from the first nine holes of the recently started program at the project in New south Wales will support extensions to the Webbs Resource and potentially boost the current Resource in line with the exploration target.
Highlights include:
- 3 metres at 1530 grams per tonne (g/t) silver (Ag), 1.42% copper (Cu), 0.1% lead (Pb) and 2.98% zinc (Zn) from 174 metres;
- 4 metres at 650g/t Ag, 0.54% Cu, 0.33% Pb and 2.58% Zn from 56 metres; and
- 6 metres at 274g/t Ag, 0.35% Cu, 1.18% Pb and 2.95% Zn from 20 metres.
The drilling program that started in June has completed a total of 44 new RC holes for about 3,100 metres. Some delays have been experienced due to drill rig performance and site access issues.
Much of the previous drilling intersected the lode system below 60 metres from surface.
The new holes continue to demonstrate the high grade nature of the deposit extending to surface as well as highlight potential depth extensions to the south as well as the possible development of multiple lode horizons which were previously unknown.
Importantly, this part of the deposit remains open in all directions. Silver Mines anticipates that drilling will continue at Webbs for another 4-6 weeks.
The company will then move the rig to its highly prospective Mole River prospects to the north of Emmaville, NSW, where a 3-4,000 metre RC campaign has been designed.
Preliminary interpretations of geochemical and geophysical surveys suggest that high grade silver mineralisation similar to that at Webbs has been identified.
The Webbs Silver Project Global Inferred Resource estimate is 1.23 million tonnes at 256g/t silver (8.2 ounces per tonne silver) for 10.19 million ounces of silver.
