MUMBAI: The rupee was marginally up in early morning trades on Friday tracking strong Asian peers and positive local shares, but the euro's weakness against the dollar capped gains.
* At 9:20 a.m., the partially convertible rupee was at 44.6400/6450 per dollar. On Thursday it had ended 0.4 percent stronger at 44.695/705 per dollar.
* The euro took a bit of a breather in Asia on Friday after this week's rally with market focus turning to an upcoming batch of economic data, now that Greece looked set to secure emergency funds and avert imminent bankruptcy.

* The index of the dollar against six major currencies was up 0.18 percent at 74.447 points, but below 74.473 at the end of the local forex market on Thursday.
