LONDON (MarketWatch) -- The unemployment rate in the 17-nation euro zone stood at 9.9% in May, unchanged from April, the European Union statistics agency Eurostat reported Friday. The figure was in line with forecasts. The number of unemployed persons in the euro zone rose by 16,000 between April and May to 15.51 million, Eurostat estimated. Among individual member nations, the lowest unemployment rate was seen in the Netherlands at 4.2%, while the highest was in Spain at 20.9%.
