NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks jumped higher Friday after a national gauge of manufacturing in June exceeded expectations. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA +0.69% rose 80.45 points to 12,494.59. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index SPX +0.65% climbed 6.83 points to 1,327.47. The Nasdaq Composite Index COMP +0.67% added 16.89 points to 2,790.41.
