Customers of all three local natural gas companies will pay lower year-over-year rates through October, according to filings with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission released Friday.
Columbia Gas customers will pay $4.26 per thousand cubic feet (mcf), down from the $5.70 rate seen in the third quarter last year. The average Columbia Gas customer uses 72 cubic feet per month and will have a monthly bill of $83.99 over the next three months, based on a whole year's monthly average.
Equitable Gas customers will pay $7.35 per mcf, down from the $7.93 seen in 2010.
The average Equitable customer, using 90 mcf per month, will have a monthly bill of $99.29.
Peoples Natural Gas customers will pay $4.96 per mcf, down 13 cents from last year. The average Peoples customer will pay $77 per month.
Gas companies must file adjustments with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission every quarter.
