MW:Dollar dives then rises during Obama's remarks

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. dollar moved dramatically during a speech by U.S. President Barack Obama urging a quick deal on the debt ceiling, with the greenback falling and then rising. Against the yen, the dollar initially dove to ¥77.96 from ¥78.24 before the speech, only to regain some of the ground as he finished. The greenback then resumed its fall as U.S. House Speaker John Boehner spoke, to hit ¥78.07 by the end of the Republican's remarks. The euro showed less movement, climbing modestly to $1.4383 from $1.4379 during the two men's speeches.
