By Deborah Levine

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The dollar fell slightly and Treasury prices remained higher on Tuesday after a pair of U.S reports showed U.S. sales of new single-family homes fell last month and consumer confidence improved this month. The dollar index DXY -0.56% , which tracks the U.S. unit's performance against a basket of six other currencies, fell to 73.715 from 73.734 prior to the data, and down from 74.074 late Monday. The euro EURUSD +0.59% rose to $1.4464, versus $1.4379 late Monday. Yields on 10-year notes 10_YEAR -1.17% , which move inversely to prices, fell 3 basis point to 2.97%.
