If you are a Columbia Gas customer you could see some savings in the future. The company says people who enroll in the budget payment plan will pay an average $75 for 2011-2012, which is down from $81 the previous year. Company officials say the reduced prices are due to new supplies of natural gas.
Budget plans are based on the historical gas use for a home, the projected cost of natural gas on the wholesale market, and current rates for service and delivery. Budget plans spread the cost of gas service out evenly over a 12 month period. The plans reset in August.
