MW: Gold extends record, oil down to trade under $92

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures extended their record Thursday, with oil going the other direction on concerns about the U.S. economy and Europe's sovereign-debt crisis. Gold for December delivery added $15.70, or 0.9%, to $1,682.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Oil for September delivery CL1U -0.58% declined 67 cents, or 0.7%, to $91.30 a barrel on the Nymex.
