MW:Crude, gold mostly unmoved by jobless claims data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Crude oil and gold futures prices were little changed by the latest jobless claims data on Thursday. Gold remained strong after the report that showed new applications for unemployment insurance in the states rose back above 400,000. The yellow metal futures contract changed hands at $1,812 after the data release at 830 ET, up 1% , or $18 an ounce. Crude oil futures fell 2.4%, to $85.47, close to its level before the data release.
