MW: U.S. stock futures stay steeply lower after data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock-index futures fell further Thursday after economic reports had jobless claims rising last week and consumer prices up 0.5% in July, both more than expected. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJ1U -2.00% were off 220 points at 11,161.00. Those for the Standard & Poor's 500 SP1U -2.32% fell 26.30 points to 1,163.60, while futures for the Nasdaq 100 ND1U -2.21% declined 44.75 points to 2,130.50.
