SG:Zambian export revenue may increase 40pct in 2011 on copper boost - Central Bank
Zambia’s revenue from exports will probably increase 40% to USD 10.2 billion this year from a year earlier with copper exports climbing 46%.
The country’s central bank said that copper export revenue is forecast to jump to USD 8.4 billion from USD 5.77 billion in 2010 due to a higher volume of shipments and prices.
The bank said that Southern African nation’s merchandise trade surplus will probably widen to USD 4 billion from USD 2.55 billion. Zambia is Africa’s biggest copper producer.
