New Delhi, Aug 24 (PTI) Copper and nickel prices rose by up to Rs 3 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on the back of increased buying by stockists to meet rising demand.
Traders said buying by stockists, driven by a pick-up in industrial demand and reports of a firming trend on the London Metal Exchange, mainly led to the rise in copper and nickel prices.
In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were traded higher by Rs 2 each at Rs 527, Rs 550 and Rs 512 per kg, respectively. Nickel followed suit and moved up by Rs 3 to Rs 1,078-1,080 per kg.
