LONDON (Dow Jones)--The dollar came under some pressure during European trading hours, but currency markets were generally very quiet ahead of Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke's highly anticipated speech at Jackson Hole later Friday.
Currency investors have been unwilling all week to place large bets ahead of his speech at 1400 GMT and this has remained the case so far Friday.
