ET:Rupee strong on positive shares; euro limits rise
MUMBAI: Rupee was firm in afternoon trade on Wednesday tracking big gains in domestic equities and Asian currencies.
* At 2:31 p.m., the partially convertible rupee was at 46.02/03 per dollar, stronger from Tuesday's close of 46.1050/1150.
* But traders said the rise in rupee was limited due to a volatile euro. * The single currency rose against the dollar after the German Constitutional Court rejected lawsuits aimed at blocking the country's participation in euro zone bailouts.
* The index of the dollar against six major currencies down 0.7 per cent at 75.418 points, but lower from 75.329 at the end of rupee trade on Tuesday.
* Sensex rose over 1.5 per cent tailing global peers.
