RTTN:Pound Trades Near 3-month High Against Franc Ahead Of BoE Interest Rate Decision
(RTTNews) - At 7 am ET Thursday, the Bank of England is due to announce its decision on interest rates. The bank is widely expected to retain its interest rate at 0.5 percent and quantitative easing at GBP 200 billion.
Ahead of the announcement, the pound rose to near a 3-month high against the franc. The pound also gained against the dollar and the euro but it came off slightly from a recent high against the yen.
At 6:53 am ET, the pound traded at 1.5965 against the dollar, 123.38 against the yen, 1.3800 against the franc and 0.8790 against the euro.
