NI:Rupee down by 35 paise to 46.90 against US dollar
The rupee opened at 46.90 per US dollar, sliding by 35 paise today, a 13 month-low, following a weak equity market, dealers at the Interbank Foreign Exchange said.
The domestic unit registered an intra-day high and low at 46.98 and 46.89 per US dollar, respectively, with major fluctuation.
The rupee has now declined for the sixth consecutive session.
The dollar's gain against major world currencies and selling of dollars by exporters too impacted the domestic unit, dealers added.
