The price of oil on world commodity exchanges was growing Friday morning as the European Central Bank moved to increase the dollar liquidity of banks in Europe and low production in Libya squeezed supplies.
The price of an October futures contract for WTI light sweet crude in electronic trading on Nymex was up 18 cents to $89.58 a barrel while the price of an October futures contract for North Sea Brent blend was up 5 cents to $112.80 in London.
The day before, October WTI contracts rose 49 cents to $89.40 a barrel, while October Brent contracts were up $2.80 to $115.20.
