WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The Institute for Supply Management is due to release its September report on manufacturing at 10 a.m. Eastern, with economists polled by MarketWatch anticipating the 28th straight reading above the 50% mark indicating expanding activity. The measure however has come down considerably from a 61.4% reading in February to just 50.6% in August, which was the lowest level since July 2009. The ISM subcomponent on employment will also be eyed ahead of Friday's data on nonfarm payrolls. Separately, the Commerce Department is due to release data on construction spending for August.
