WSJ:Key US Dollar, Sterling Libor Rise; Euro Rate Unchanged
LONDON (Dow Jones)--The cost of borrowing dollars and sterling for three months in the London interbank market rose Wednesday, while the corresponding rate for euros was unchanged.
Data from the British Bankers' Association showed the three-month dollar London Interbank Offered Rate, or Libor, rising to 0.40083% from 0.39750%.
The spread between the three-month dollar Libor and the three-month overnight index swap rate--a barometer of banks' willingness to lend--widened to 31.6 basis points from 31.1 basis points Tuesday.
The euro rate was unchanged at 1.50438% from Tuesday, while the three-month sterling rate rose to 0.96250% from 0.96125%.
