THE Australian dollar rose 0.2 of one US cent after the release of the minutes of the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) November board meeting.
The RBA cut the cash rate from 4.75 per cent to 4.5 per cent at its November meeting, the first rate move in 12 months.
In the minutes from the meeting, released today, the RBA gave no indication that it would cut the cash rate again in December, as markets had been pricing in prior to the release of the minutes.
At 1137 AEDT, the Australian dollar was trading at 102.18 US cents, compared with 101.99 cents at 1129 AEDT just before the data was released.
The currency ended Monday's local session at 102.86 US cents.
