MADRID (MarketWatch) -- European stock markets gave up gains on Tuesday after data showing a downwardly revised U.S. third-quarter growth figure. U.S. stock market futures pushed lower, and the Stoxx Europe 600 index XX:SXXP -0.31% fell along with them, down 0.4% to 223.90 after spending much of the day in the black. The French CAC 40 index FR:PX1 -0.07% fell 0.2% to 2,887.47 and the German DAX 30 index DX:DAX -0.38% fell 0.7% to 5,568.64. The FTSE 100 index UK:UKX +0.02% shifted to flat at 5,219.98.
