NEW YORK (TheStreet ) -- Gold prices were falling Tuesday on a stronger U.S. dollar, perplexing traders and analysts who are waiting for a breakout.
Gold for February delivery was down $20.80 at $1,713.70 an ounce at the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. The gold price has traded as high as $1,728.30 and as low as $1,705.70 an ounce while the spot price was down $14, according to Kitco's gold index.
