ET:Gold price today extends losses in futures trade, sheds 0.36%

NEW DELHI: Gold prices fell by 0.36 per cent to Rs 27,565 per 10 grams in futures trade today, in tune with a weakening trend in overseas markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in February fell by Rs 71, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 27,565 per 10 grams in 4,712 lots.

In a similar fashion, the metal for April contract delivery lost Rs 84, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 27,858 per 10 grams in 153 lots.

Market analysts said a subdued trend in precious metals in global markets after ratings agency Fitch warned of a possible downgrade of France kept investors on the edge about the situation in Europe, eroding demand.
