MW: U.S. stocks retain losses after factory-order data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks remained lower Wednesday after the government reported U.S. factory orders rose 1.8% in November. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA -0.28% was off 21.79 points at 12,375.09. The S&P 500 Index SPX -0.52% fell 4.03 points to 1,272.93. The Nasdaq Composite COMP -0.64% declined 13.53 points to 2,635.19.
