MW: Natural gas holds to losses after supply report

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures held to losses on Thursday after a supplies report showed a drop within the lower range of expectations. Natural gas for February delivery NG12G -2.20% declined 7 cents, or 2.3%, to $3.06 per million British thermal units. Prices had briefly ticked lower after the Energy Information Administration reported an decline of 76 billion cubic feet in the nation's supplies of natural gas. Analysts polled by Platts had expected a decline between 77 and 81 bcf.
