Mumbai, Jan 9 (PTI) Most of the base metals fell at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist selling amidst lower industrial offtake on the back of bearish trend in London Metal Exchange (LME).
Meanwhile, Nickel spurted on heavy demand from alloy industries and brass sheet cutting moved up due to better offtake from consumer industries.
The industrial metal fell on worries over growth slow down in euro zone, strengthening the US dollar.
Tin dropped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,310 from last Saturday''s closing level of Rs 1,315.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper wire bar all slipped by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 450, Rs 445 and Rs 478 from Rs 454, Rs 449 and Rs 482 previously.
Copper utensils scrap went down by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 413 and copper armiture moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 438.
Copper sheet cutting and brass utensils scrap also softened by a rupee per kg each to Rs 434 and Rs 303, respectively.
However, nickel prices jumped by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 1,110 from Rs 1,095 and brass sheet cutting edged by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 316 from Rs 314 last weekend.
