(RTTNews) - The Swiss stock market is showing modest losses in mid-day trading on Monday.
Shares started the day with modest gains, but caution soon took over. Stocks declined as investors awaited the results of another meeting between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy. The leaders are discussing the implementation of the fiscal pack between the euro-zone countries.
The benchmark SMI is down 0.33 percent to 5,993.58. The SLI is down 0.26 percent to 884.01. The SPI has slipped 0.25 percent to 5,397.31.
UBS is among the losers on the session. Shares of the bank are down almost 2 percent after BNP Paribas gave the stock an "underperform" rating.
