BLBG:New Zealand Dollar Gains to Highest Level Since Nov. 1, Aussie Advances
The New Zealand dollar rose to the highest level in 2 1/2 months after a hedge-fund manager on a creditors’ committee for Greece said yesterday the country is nearing a deal on its debt, boosting demand for riskier assets.
The so-called kiwi gained 0.3 percent to 80.30 U.S. cents as of 3:27 p.m. in Sydney after climbing as high as 80.37 cents, the strongest level since Nov. 1. Australia’s dollar advanced 0.3 percent to $1.0402 before a report tomorrow forecast to show the nation’s employers added jobs in December.
