RTTN: Dollar Steady Ahead Of US Jobless Claims, Personal Income
(RTTNews.com) - The Labor Department is due to release its customary jobless claims report for the week ended February 25th at 8:30 am ET. Economists expect claims to edge up to 355,000 from 351,000 in the previous week.
The Bureau of Economic Analysis is due to release its personal income & outlays report for January. Economists expect the report, which is due out at 8:30 am ET, to show that personal income rose 0.5 percent and personal spending increased by 0.4 percent. In December, personal income rose 0.5 percent and personal spending edged down marginally.
The US dollar held steady against its major rivals ahead of the data. As of 8:25 am ET, the greenback was trading at 0.9056 against the Swiss franc, 81.13 versus the yen, 1.5952 against the pound and 1.3315 against the euro.
