Forexpros - Gold futures were lower in European trade on Friday.
On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for April delivery traded at USD1700.25 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.09%.
It earlier traded at a session low USD1697.55 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1663.75 and resistance at USD1717.65.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.36% to trade at USD79.45.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for May delivery fell 0.01% to trade at USD33.835 a troy ounce while Copper for May delivery rose 0.51% to trade at USD3.811 a pound.
