MW: G-20 countries saw growth slow in fourth quarter

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The first-ever release of GDP data covering all the Group of 20 countries showed the world economy slowed to a quarter-on-quarter growth rate of 0.7% in the fourth quarter from 0.9% in the third quarter. On a year-on-year basis, the economy slowed to 3.3% from 3.6% in the third quarter. In 2011 as a whole, G-20 GDP grew by 2.8%, a marked deceleration compared with the 5.0% growth recorded in 2010.
