According to Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in April this year Ukraine crude steel production will reach 2.88 million tonnes up by 16.9% compared to February. According to Metallurgprom forecast, pig iron output in Ukraine will total 2.460 million tonnes in April up by 13.2% while production of rolled steel in the month is expected to be 2.580 million tonnes up by 17.5% compared to February. In the first two months of the current year, Ukraine registered a 10% decrease in its finished steel product output to 4.745 million tonnes, a 5% decrease in its crude steel output to 5.283 million tonnes and a 1%YoY rise in its pig iron production to 4.647 million tonnes. In February alone, Ukraine produced 2.464 million tonnes of crude steel down 12.6%, 2.174 million tonnes of pig iron down by 12% and 2.195 million tonnes of rolled steel down by 13.96%MoM.
