NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Energy stocks fell for a second straight session on Thursday, with shares of coal producer Alpha Natural Resources ANR -2.04% down 2.7%, oil service firm Nabors Industries NBR -1.80% declining 2.5% and Chesapeake Energy Corp. CHK -1.94% off by 2.4%. Energy stocks in the S&P 500 fell 1.5%, on average. On the up side, First Solar FSLR +0.95% rose 0.7%. Chevron CVX -1.53% fell 1.3% and Transocean Ltd. RIG -1.62% moved down by 1.6%.
