ET:Nickel drops on subdued demand, global cues

MUMBAI: Nickel and Tin fell at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist selling amidst lower demand from alloy industries on the back of bearish London Metal Exchange (LME) advices.

Elsewhere, select copper, brass and lead also edged down on reduced offtake from industrial users.

The industrial metals were trading lower to flat at the LME, on cautiousness due to lacklustre US economy data.

Nickel dipped by Rs 13 per kg to Rs 1,075 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,088 and Tin also moved down by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 1,320 from Rs 1,323.

Copper cable scrap, copper amiture, copper wire bar, copper sheet cutting, brass utensils scrap and lead all softened by a rupee per kg each to Rs 479, Rs 463, Rs 507, Rs 455, Rs 318 and Rs 117 respectively.
