MW: Natural gas declines further after supply report

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures added to losses Thursday after U.S. government data showed a larger-than-expected inventories increase for the week ended March 23. The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported an increase of 57 billion cubic feet. Analysts surveyed by Platts had expected a net injection between 43 bcf to 47 bcf for the week. Natural-gas for May delivery NGK12 -4.38% , the new front-month contract, retreated 10 cents, or 4.4%, to $2.18 per million British thermal units. It had lost about four cents before the data.
