MW:Stock futures remain higher after housing starts

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock-index futures retained the bulk of Tuesday gains after the Commerce Department reported U.S. housing starts fell 5.8% in March, while permits jumped to their highest level in more than three years. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJM2 +0.48% were up 66 points, or 0.5%, at 12,916. Those for the S&P 500 SPM2 +0.58% rose 8 points, or 0.6%, to 1,371.90. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 NDM2 +0.49% climbed 13 points to 2,676.75.
