NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks continued a tentative rise after a better-than-expected report on consumer confidence in April. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA +0.06% rose 18.77 points to 13,223.39. The S&P 500 SPX +0.0014% added more than a point to 1,401.33. The Nasdaq Composite COMP -0.02% climbed 2.26 points to 3,052.87.
