BS:Select base metals falls on global cues

Select base metals fell at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist selling amidst poor industrial offtake on the back of bearish London Metal Exchange (LME) cues.

Meanwhile, copper utensils, brass sheet cutting and zinc gained better demand consumer industries.

The industrial metals were trading lower at the LME on weak euro as shrinking manufacturing sector data raised renewed concerns over slowdown in eurozone amidst uncertain demand outlook from China weighed the sentiment.

Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and tin all dropped by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 486, Rs 514 and Rs 1,345 from Monday's closing level of Rs 491, Rs 519 and Rs 1,350.
Copper scrap heavy edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 480 from Rs 482.

Copper armiture, copper sheet cutting, aluminium utensils scrap and lead all softened by rupee per kg each to Rs 473, Rs 466, Rs 110 and Rs 123 respectively.

However, copper utensils scrap, brass sheet cutting and zinc looked up by a rupee per kg to Rs 449, Rs 333 and Rs 135. PTI PAK
