SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures on Thursday added to gains after a weekly inventories report showed a smaller-than-expected increase in supplies. Natural gas for June delivery NGM12 +3.68% jumped close to $2.36 per million British thermal units after the report, and recently traded at $2.34 per million Btus, up 8 cents, or 3.7%. The Energy Information Administration reported an increase of 28 billion cubic feet in the storages of natural gas for the week ended April 27. Analysts polled by Platts had expected an increase between 30 bcf and 34 bcf.
