NEW DELHI: Supported by a rise in demand from alloy-makers in the spot market, nickel prices gained Rs 8.70 to Rs 940.40 per kg in futures trade today on increased buying by stockists.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in June rose by Rs 8.70, or 0.93 per cent, to Rs 940.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 18,031 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in July moved up by Rs 8.60, or 0.92 per cent, to Rs 947.40 per kg in 970 lots.
Meanwhile, nickel was little a changed at USD 16,939 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
