MW: Euro falls further as Spain's yields hit record

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The euro fell further on Tuesday as Spain's bond yields shot to record highs, spooking equity markets and pushing the S&P 500 index SPX -0.11% into negative territory. The euro EURUSD -0.24% fell to $1.2452, from $1.2495 Monday. The dollar index DXY +0.05% , which measures the greenback against six currencies, rose to 82.699 from 82.529 in late North American trading on Monday.
