MW:U.S. stock futures trim drop after economic data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock-index futures eased Monday losses after a gauge of manufacturing activity in the New York region rebounded in July. Separately, the goverment reported a 0.5% decline in U.S. retail sales in June. Futures for the Dow industrials DJU2 -0.37% were off 34 points at 12,678. Those for the S&P 500 SPX +1.65% fell 3.5 points to 1,348.20. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 NDU2 -0.26% declined 5 points to 2,572.
