NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures pared their gains slightly on Thursday but remained higher after data showed a sharp increase in weekly jobless claims. Up 60 points before the data, futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJU2 +0.50% gained 45 points to 12,905 in recent trade. Futures on the S&P 500 index SPU2 +0.56% rose 5.30 points to 1,372.6 and Nasdaq 100 futures NDU2 +0.73% advanced 15.50 points to 2,635.5.
