MW: Gold trades higher after three straight losses

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures gained on Thursday, vying to break a three-day losing streak as recent bargain prices enticed buyers back to the market. Gold for August delivery GCQ2 +0.81% advanced $12.40, or 0.8%, to $1,583.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
