TH:Rupee jumps to 53.31 in intra-day trade |
|
| |
The rupee continued its winning streak against the dollar by opening higher at 53.44 on sustained dollar selling by exporters and banks.
At 1 pm local time, the local unit was trading at over a four-month high of 53.31. In the morning trade, the rupee touched a high of 53.05.
The Government’s holding fort on 'reform' measures initiated by it about a fortnight ago seems to have buoyed the sentiment.
Also, the dollar has depreciated a tad against major currencies including the euro.
