Select base metals prices softened in an otherwise mute non-ferrous metal market here today on reduced industrial demand despite better London Metal Exchange (LME) cues.
The industrial metal inched up at the LME after Spain unveiled crisis budget to buttress its economy, though the concerns over Chinese demand weighed ahead of a week-long holiday.
Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar, brass sheet cutting, zinc and lead all edged down by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 485, Rs 513, Rs 331, Rs 143 and Rs 125, respectively.
