MW: Nike sells Umbro to Iconix; Jones profit down

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Shares of Jones Group Inc. JNY -5.74% , parent of Nine West shoes and Anne Klein clothing, declined 3.3% on Wednesday. Its third-quarter profit fell more than half to $17.4 million, or 22 cents a share even though its adjusted profit topped analysts' estimates. Nike Inc. NKE +0.01% shares were little changed after it agreed to sell its Umbro unit to Iconix Brand Group Inc. ICON +2.60% , parent of brands including London Fog and Joe Boxer, for $225 million. Iconix rose 2.4%. Dollar Tree Inc. DLTR +1.43% rose 1.5% after the discounter was raised to conviction buy from neutral by Goldman Sachs. Barnes & Noble Inc. BKS -2.61% fell 1.8%. The bookstore operator said it has detected tampering with Pin pad devices used in 63 of its stores.
